The fact you are staying in a Mill that featured in the Doomsday book will be lost on your children who will just love the place for what it is...the venue for the greatest game of hide and seek they will ever play with exciting and unusual bedrooms, their own little games room and a little lounge that sits over the path of the water itself. For adults this is just an incredibly atmospheric place to stay, steeped with history and with a dining table so large it covers two time zones. An incredible place for a large family or party to stay.
It wasn't just the kids that shed a tear as our family weekend to celebrate my fortieth came to an end, and just for the record...I won the hide and seek. Mr S, Daventry, Northamptonshire 23 March 2011

Great location and living facilities with fantastic walking and cycling activities on the doorstep. Mrs P, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire 28 February 2011
Excellent cottage for a big group. We had a brilliant New Year here. Miss R, BARNSLEY, South Yorkshire 12 January 2011
We've just left after a really wonderful short break staying at the Mill. The whole property is wonderful - beautiful and fascinating but also very comfortable and well kitted out. I suspect the abundance of water might make staying here with under - 3s somewhat stressful but whether for families or adults this is a genuinely wonderful place. Couldn't recommend it more highly! Mr W, London, London 04 July 2010
We had a really wonderful time and everything was just as it should be to enjoy the week away. Mrs C, Worcester Park, Surrey 05 June 2010
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I can't wait until we can go back again! Amazing! Miss W, HARLOW, Essex 13 May 2010
If you think this place looks good in the photos then just wait until you get there! An amazing holiday which could not be improved on in any way. The rooms were spot on, a massive kitchen, nice bath and shower rooms, table football, a large TV and a wood burner which topped it all off on those freezing cold winter days. I cannot recommend this place more. The way the old mill has kept all its original features while being warm and cosy is credit to whoever converted the place - well done! The area is nice, and the local people are very welcoming - I want to return now just writing about it! Thanks so very much to the owner who was extremely helpful, and has provided such a beautiful holiday let. Mr D, ABINGDON, Oxfordshire 04 February 2010
Brailsford Water Mill is a unique place to stay. We loved our time there and would recommend it to anyone without young or mischievous children as there is lots of wonderful mill water all around it! Mrs J, TOWCESTER 05 January 2010
Fantastic group accommodation, lovely local town, easily accessed and priced well. Well maintained with many of the original Mill features still intact. Miss M, STAMFORD, Lincolnshire 16 December 2009

Fantastic house for large groups, very clean, lots of bathrooms, gardens brilliant. Children love this house, but need to take care of the water. Mr A, MATLOCK, Derbyshire 01 September 2009
We all thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, and it was quaint, quirky, charming and relaxing. We had the best time and it was perfect for my parents Golden Wedding celebrations, with the highlight of having everyone relaxing by the small lake with drinks and a BBQ - heaven! Mrs P, Lincoln, Lincolnshire 23 June 2009
A quirky and fantastic house for large numbers, we had a fantastic holiday. The gardens are beautiful, we loved sitting out on the deck every evening and the living room is a great party area. Mrs U 17 April 2009

A fun house to stay in, very different from the norm. Mrs K, Reading 31 October 2008
Fantastic home for lots of people to use together and the biggest table you will ever see that was fine for 16 adults to use. The gardens are beautiful. The house has lots of nooks and crannies where you can play sardines and find places to be on your own if you want to. Miss F, Leatherhead, Surrey 08 August 2008
A fantastic holiday for a large gathering, the house was lovely with all the old features in the living room and plenty of room for everyone to get together. The garden was great, really big and makes a great first impression when you arrive. Dr R, London 16 June 2008
